First, the LAST red picture. I know, I'm as relieved as you are that it's over. Buh-bye project red!
Speaking of February, as I've said for the last 28 days, "At least it's an Olympic year." And I'm sad that it's coming to an end. It has been a wonderful Olympics, and I would LOVE to visit Vancouver. What a beautiful place! I'm PUMPED about the USA/Canada hockey team today. GO TEAM USA!
To be honest though, I think one of the reasons I have loved these games is because every time a Canadian wins, I feel "we" have won. How can USA and Canada be on opposite sides when we're so alike? I guess I developed the mantra, "North America Rules." So I got to celebrate when either country medaled. And that was a lot of celebrating, my friends.
Until it comes to hockey. Than I'm crystal clear who I am rooting for. I had to throw that out there.
You know you've been watching too much Olympic coverage when you realize you've started saying "out" and "about" with the accent. I was laughing about it with my 4th hour class last Thursday. I said "about" and promptly apologized for the accent. One of my students asked if I had any Yooper roots, and I will call my Northern Wisconsin heritage close enough. When I went on to my 6th hour class, at the end of the lecture one of my sweet little freshmen raised her hand and said, "You say out and about with a Canadian accent!" Busted! I hear it when I say it, and I swear to you I have never had such accent before. Maybe it will fade with time. Or maybe I have some inner Canadian yearning to bust out. It could go either way.
Enjoy your Sunday, and the hockey game. And if you're "OOT and ABOOT" think of me and my crazy new accent.
