a busy few weeks to be sure. I took a little vaca from blogging (and took a little vaca for reals), but I'm back! I don't know how I'm going to catch up with all that has happened over the last few weeks. One day at a time, I suppose.
I thought today would be a great day to talk about Jenna's play and tie it into the holiday. Her play was called "This is America." It was a very sweet play, but I have got to tell you it was hotter than you-know-where in the gymnasium. Hard to shoot in there too, so forgive the quality. This is my "MWAC" mode and I was not going for artistic. I was going for documenting the moment. Scrapbooking mom, if you will.
Here they are, singing away.
All for the
Look, there's Lady Liberty!
Here's J and A after the show.
And luckily sissy was home and got to see the play!
But my favorite part of the play was the honoring of the Veteran's in the audience. Each name was read, and the second-grader's walked out into the audience and handed their family member a card and saluted them. And I cried. It was so touching, I can't even explain it. Through my tears I caught this moment between a student and his great-grandpa. a WWII Vet. And the moment will be in my heart for a very long time.
For all those who have or who are currently serving our country, I am so grateful. Enjoy your Memorial Day.
