Arrived on Monday and Em and I walked along Michigan Ave. Turns out they are filming Transformers 3. How cool is THAT?!? We could see roadblocks and staffers with yellow T3 t-shirts in one area, so we went down to the Riverwalk area and sat and watched the crew work. Turns out the actors were filming inside, but the director was working on something. Recognize him?
The funny thing is, I had myself convinced that this gent was the director. No disrespect intended, this man just LOOKED the part, KWIM?
We were sitting right outside a barrier and watching them work. Someone came up with these tools which I believe were meant to calibrate the cameras. So as he stood in front of me, I took our picture.
Some people from the crew commented on my camera, wondering if I was paparazzi. I tried to explain that I'm a MWAC (mom-with-a-camera), but some didn't believe me. My kids feel I'm paparazzi, but I'm not sure that counts. I'm also not sure how to spell it, so really, how can I BE it? C'mon, people.
I took the picture above because I saw two official photographers on this site. I thought it would be cool to share with my photography club students that this is a possible photography-related gig. Also because they were both shooting CANON. I'm just sayin'.
On the street there were corners with all of this junk needed for filming. And then there were some vehicles parked in the area. We thought one of the cars was "Bumblebee," but it was covered. We heard later it wasn't.
We went shopping, hit the American Girl store for Jenna, then Kevin picked us up after work and we went to Em's apartment, met Lauren, and the kids cooked dinner. They made these yummy quesadillas with chicken and grilled pineapple from PW. It used to be that Em aspired to be Martha, but now PW is her hero. I feel like getting her a bracelet with "WWPWD?"
It was my first time seeing the apt., and it was great!!! It felt more like a condo than an apartment. Here they are in their pad.
