For something a little different for me, I created these canvases for display. Again, I am in love with the pinks and browns of the new line from Melody Ross called "Soul Food." They were SUPER SIMPLE because I just cut up some of the pre-existing papers and mod-podged them down onto a blank canvas I painted a weathered brown to begin with. Quick home decor project with minial fuss. Just what I love! They are about 9 x 12 inches.
And did I mention it's inexpensive? Paper, brads, and two canvases. Score!
Next stop for me? Mixed media. I know I can do it!
Yes indeed. I have a few more to share. These two are special, because they were just for me! I don't want to sound like a jerk, and I realize it could come across this way, but I rarely get to scrap just for me. Working on teams and working outside of the home means I scrap for deadlines 99% of the time. I don't buy a lot of scrapping stuff at this point of my life. I just don't have time to scrap outside of my commitments. And yet, there are a few favorites that I MAKE time for. Here are a few.
I still heart Fancy Pants. I was honored to be on the DT, and will forever be a fan. Here's one from "It's the Little Things." I am loving the new releases!
And BasicGrey. I am a SERIOUS addict of all things BG. And this Hello Luscious line is no exception.
Hopefully this long weekend I'll get a bit more time to scrap for me. Not that I'm not EXTREMELY grateful for the opportunities I've been given. I know how lucky I am.
For serious. SNOW this weekend. I mean C'MON! I have lost my sense of humor with the cold weather. Not funny. Really puts a damper on the old mood, if you know what I mean.
Moving on, I scrapped a bit, and caught up with scanning and stitching layouts. MAN, that takes a lot of time.
I worked on my Studio Calico kit, and almost have the latest one "killed." For me, that's 6 layouts. I killed last month's kit as well, but haven't scanned that one yet. Maybe tomorrow. Here are two from the April kit. Mostly papers from Crate Paper on these two. I am in love with the new lines from Crate. Serious hoarding happening here.
And my normal blocking layout. BORING, but what I had going. It happens.
I also had the chance to play with the new release from Sassafras. Watch the blog this week for more info. YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!
I am in love with the "Soul Food" line from GCD. Melody Ross is so inspirational, as are her products. I thought it would be fun to make some cards for a change. Have you ever had a friend who is going through a rough patch? You could send her a handmade card, just like these, made in about 10 minutes a piece. If you know anything about me, you know I'm not the type to spend a ton of time on anything. These cards are quick and easy, especially using these inspirational cards.
So if you're looking for some quick and easy cards, look no further than Soul Food!
