How Did I End Up Here?

A pretty good weekend, all in all

Busy, freakishly warm, creative, and filled with family fun. What more could a girl ask for? The only downside to the weekend was a) it was much too short, and b) the warmer weather put our allergies into hyperdrive. Back to daily allergy meds, for sure.

I'll share a few layouts today, and save a few for later in the week. I'm hoping to blog every day this week. Managing the Sass blog is taking up a lot of my computer time, but I'm not complaining. It's been so much fun getting to know the Sass friends, and the designers are AMAZING. How I'm on this team is a huge mystery to me. I'm not worthy.

Speaking of Sass, here is a layout I did using the Starters line from Sass and the pics I took of Em and Kevin last weekend.

Since I'm on the topic of Em and Kevin, I'll share my first Studio Calico layout with the April kit. It is my absolute FAVORITE kit so far. I've only been subbing since January, but man, I am IN LOVE with this one. I even using a GASP "technique" on this one. I know, right? I misted the gray with white. And I have to say I kind of like the outcome!

Photoshop Tuesday, and then some.

First, the news. I made the Lily Bee team! Thrilled! Honored! Touched! All of the above! Here is one of my layouts using Lily Bee. And the new releases? SWOON!

It was a great week off, and a better weekend spent with family. Em and Kevin came home, my nephew and his fiance were home from up north, and the family got together several times, including Saturday night at my house. There is nothing like family to make you feel complete. And to see the next generations, and who they are becoming? Priceless.

Speaking of which, I took some pictures of Em and Kevin. And to answer the most-oft asked question, NO, they are not engaged. NOT THAT I WOULDN'T LOVE THAT! They were just kind enough to let me practice some shots on them. I was going for a soft, dreamy, sun-soaked effect. Here are a few of my faves. I think one of the things I admire the most about their relationship is the fact they love to laugh together. They truly enjoy each other's company.

The fact that they're both good looking doesn't hurt either. LOL!

My favorite photo of the day, hands down. My girl, she's just so beautiful. And kicking butt as a teacher. I just could not be prouder.

I'm back!

Did you miss me? No? Well alrighty then. Went to Traverse City for a few days. Jenna got to swim,  I got to take photos, and Bill got to visit a place his parents took him every summer growing up. Win, win, win.

Went to the Traverse City Mental Hospital again. Can I just say how fascinating this place is? And before you get all "she loves this place?" on me, let me tell you it's cool. From the old, abandoned buildings that have a history, to the new shops and restaurants, I am hooked.

We also went to Glen Haven, a ghost town by the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes. The land was bought by the government. It's not really a run down ghost town, it's really pretty actually.

Also went to Leland, AKA "Fishtown." Quiet this time of year, but gorgeous nonetheless.

Won $144 at the casino, using ONLY the money comped by the hotel. Cool, eh? Enjoyed the scenery and our family road trips. This time Bill shot with me, so he was less impatient. In fact, when shooting at the asylym, Jenna and I were waiting for him for a change. He took some good shots, and I will share them later.
